Honoring the Voices of Young People
About the Event
The Phonetic Spit Annual Luncheon is a signature fundraising event celebrating youth voice, creative literacy, and the communities that make transformation possible.
This year’s theme, Celebrating Youth Voices, centers the power of young people expressing themselves through language and performance—and the role of supporters who help create space for that growth.
During this inspiring luncheon, guests will experience powerful youth performances and reflections from the field, offering a glimpse into how creative literacy and spoken word help young people build confidence, connection, and new possibilities for their futures.
Together, we gather in a shared moment of recognition and support while raising critical funds for Phonetic Spit’s youth literacy programs across Arizona.

Where Your Sponsorship Goes
Sponsorships of the Phonetic Spit Annual Luncheon serve two essential purposes: underwriting the cost of the event itself and sustaining Phonetic Spit’s youth literacy programs year-round.
Approximately 30% of sponsorship support underwrites the cost of the luncheon, ensuring the event remains free and accessible to educators, community partners, and youth advocates. These funds cover essential expenses such as venue use, food and refreshments, audiovisual production, printed materials, accessibility needs, and event coordination.
The remaining approximately 70% directly supports Phonetic Spit’s youth programs across Arizona, including in-school creative literacy residencies, community workshops, and youth performance opportunities. Sponsorship dollars help provide teaching artist stipends, curriculum development, program coordination, and safe, supportive spaces where young people can read, write, and share their voices with confidence.
By underwriting this event, sponsors make the celebration possible—and ensure the impact extends far beyond a single afternoon, reaching thousands of young people throughout the year.
